Hundreds of bling seekers will converge on downtown Springfield on Oct. 10 in search of answers to clues that will result in a $10,000 diamond ring prize. Sponsored in part by Apple Studios, the Diamond Dash is a fundraiser for Camp Barnabas. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the East Plaza Amphitheater at Jordan Valley Park and concludes with a celebration at 2:30 p.m. at Justice Jewelers, 3520 E. Battlefield in Springfield where Apple Studios will be giving away a $2,000 wedding photography package to one lucky couple. Teams of two will receive clues and riddles via text message directing them to local landmarks, where they will answer specific questions and score points toward winning the diamond ring. Any mode of transportation is encouraged except automobiles. Teams are encouraged to be very creative in their participation. Participants may register in advance online at www.justicejewelersdiamonddash.com. All of the $25 entry fee goes directly to support the programs of Camp Barnabas. Located one hour west of Springfield, this organization offers life-changing opportunities for people with special needs in a Christian camp setting. We expect 200 teams to participate!
